Snow!

We let the kids play in the snow yesterday. We have gotten a few inches the last few days. Ella and Micah had so much fun! Micah wouldn't keep his gloves on so his little hands were freezing so Paul decided to tape them on ;)

Crafting Bug

I have been in a crafting mood lately. It all started last week when I realized Ella's outfit was missing a cute hair accessory. After spending some time on google I found a pattern for a cute fabric flower and set off to the fabric store. An hour later and.... viola! A flower hair clippy was made! I'm excited to make a few more of these to go with some of her other outfits. I also ordered this book last week and it should be here any day! I can't wait to start sewing some of the cute things in it.

Who needs toys.......

...when you can play in a box. Micah LOVES boxes any color and size, he's in them! He could play with a box for hours, just climbing in and climbing out. I think we need to make him a cardboard playhouse, he would be in heaven :)

Pumpkin Cookies

We had our 2nd annual pumpkin cookie decorating extravaganza! Ella was able to wear her cute apron and hat that she got for her birthday. Hopefully next year Micah will be able to join in on the fun. The cookies are super delish and I'm trying very hard not to devour them all ;)

Ella's first race

Ella ran a 50 meter race in the annual pumpkin run this morning! She was super excited about it and when I woke her up this morning (very early) she was bouncing off the walls! As soon as it ended she wanted to do it again. Although she came in last place, she did pretty good considering she was the youngest one there! She walked away with a pumpkin and a ribbon to add to her growing collection ;) It was worth waking up extra early to see.

A walk in the park

We enjoyed a nice family walk through the park Sunday night. The weather was just starting to cool down (it's now feeling like winter outside) and we realized soon taking walks won't be an option. We have some beautiful parks here in Ohio and we are fortunate to live within a few miles of many of them.

Boy, Oh Boy!

Micah is ALL boy, there is no doubt about it! He is constantly keeping us on our toes with his daredevil stunts. He somehow gets himself into trouble no matter where we are. No shopping cart seat belt is strong enough to hold him, no walls are strong enough to contain his lion roar, no food too disgusting for him to eat (this morning he actually took old soggy cereal out of the trash, gross!) I often wonder what God has in store for our son and wonder if He is preparing him for the mission field. I could see him one day living in the jungle and preaching to tribes about Jesus Christ, and oh, how awesome that would be! I think it's so amazing how God can take personality traits in our kids that we might not find very desirable sometimes (i.e strong wills, chatter boxes) and use it for His Glory and to further His kingdom!

I have had such a hard time getting pictures of Micah lately! Mostly because he's always doing this.....

Fall is in the air...

or at least it was this weekend. I will admit that I'm not ready for fall to be here. No matter how beautiful the leaves changing are, or how delicious pumpkin spice lattes are, or how fun pumpkin patches are, I'm just not ready! I will say however that I'm a fan of cute fall outfits for the kids and I do love me a cute fall sweater. Seeing these cuties in these outfits does help me welcome it a little :)

More Fair Fun

We were at the fair Wednesday evening and ran in to our friends
The Kirkwoods. They have a daughter named Catelyn who is close to Ella's age and they had a lot of fun going on rides together! They were so funny to watch because Catelyn is the polar opposite of Ella. She would have her arms up in the air with a big smile while Ella sat clinging with white knuckles to the safety bar (she takes after her mama).

Fair time!

Saturday night we returned to the fair for some fried delicious goodies and let Ella ride on some of the rides. We have fair passes so we will hopefully be returning a lot this week, that is if it stops raining! :( We LOVE the fair!

Ella was so excited to ride this dinasour roller coaster but after one time around her big smile quickly turned to tears. Poor little thing :(
